Russell, formerly known as Kororāreka, was the first permanent European settlement and sea port in New Zealand. Get out of town with these interesting Russell side-trips: Paihia (Parasailing & Paragliding, Waitangi Treaty Grounds, & more) and The Stone Store & Kemp House - Kerikeri Mission Station (in Kerikeri).
